We humans are not human. We do not each individually consists of a torso, head, and limbs in the same way that a bear consists of a torso, head, and limbs, for example. We are more like termites. A picture of a termite that does not show its mound is not a useful picture of a termite.
Surely it must be the case that the mass of technological infrastructure per capita is many times the mass of a human, even when averaged across the whole planet including impoverished regions.
What we think of as humans are not humans; humans in consumerist cultures are actually tiny scurrying biological cores wreathed inside the great space of the machine nest.
